10th anniversary of showing and telling about printed electronics
Speaking to Dr Klaus Hecker, Managing Director der OE-A (Organic and Printed Electronics Association)
The 10th edition of LOPEC will take place from March 13 – 15, 2018. In the beginning, the show started out with a stronger focus on technology. How has this changed in the past 10 years? That is true. In the first years, the technology was still in its early stages of development. Companies that exhibited at the first exhibitions mainly showed demonstrators and concepts for production equipment. That was partly very hard to grasp, especially for other industries. This has changed a lot in the recent years. The technology has advanced and so have the companies: we see many products that have already entered the mass markets from medical devices, wearables, and white goods to OLED TVs, and cars with OLED taillights or touch surfaces, as well as smart packaging with sensors. This development opens doors and we see a continuous growth in visitors from various industries who are looking for state-of-the-art products as well as suppliers.
